Crowder College hosted the third annual Local Authors’ Fair today.
Forty authors from Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri displayed their work and talked with fellow bookworms. New to this year’s fair — Authors gave presentations every half hour about their work or on the art of writing.
In partnership with the Newton County Library and the Neosho Arts Council, organizers want to spark an interest in local authors among the four state community.
Event Organizer Kent Farnsworth, “What we want is to encourage the reading public to get more involved in reading and show them that there are a lot of people in the Four State area, who are publishing and that there’s a variety of work and that there’s something that everyone can find interesting.”
Organizers wanted to see how attendees responded to the presentations, and they hope to implement more ideas like this one in the future.
