JAY, Okla. – Delaware County authorities are investigating a shooting death after a man died Thursday.

Patrick S. Anderson, 51, of Eucha, died Thursday morning.

Delaware County Sheriff James Beck said the shooting is under investigation and no suspects are currently being held.

Beck said the sheriff’s office was called out around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday to 122 Sunnywood Lane.

Anderson had a criminal history of drug and theft violations.

Sources close to the investigation said Patrick Anderson is related to Brian Anderson.

Brian Anderson and his wife Allie were charged in 2019 in Delaware County District Court with first-degree murder in the death of Melissa Vermillion, 41.

A videotape discovered by investigators shows Vermillion repeatedly asking for help on Oct. 21, 2017, after she was injected with methamphetamine. The victim was heard on the videotape crying out for her mother. Allie Anderson’s voice could be heard on the videotape, but her face was not visible.

Authorities were not called to the residence until an hour after Vermillion’s death.

Brian Anderson was believed to have ties to the Irish Mob and Vermillion was injected with methamphetamine by Brian Anderson to prevent her from testifying about the Andersons’ criminal activity, according to an arrest affidavit.

Brian Anderson died from a drug overdose while incarcerated at the Delaware County Jail in 2020. Allie Anderson plead to a reduced charge of manslaughter and was sentenced to three years in prison.
