The second annual Mardi-Bra brunch fundraiser takes place Saturday, March 2nd at the Crestwood Country Club in Pittsburg.
The event is hosted by Wesley House, P3, Safe House Crisis Center and the Community Health Center to help bring in bras for women in need. Last year’s event brought in more than 260 garments and raised over $2 thousand dollars. The organizations recognized the need for the event when they realized many women and young girls in their care had to go without undergarments.
“Bras are the least donated item for area agencies. They’re expensive, individuals really don’t know what size to purchase. So we thought it would be a great way to bring women together, have a nice morning and also get a nice supply of new bras,” says Dawn McNay, MardiBra fundraiser organizer.
The event will be held from 11:30am to 1pm and the last day to purchase tickets is February 22nd. For more info, you can contact McNay at firstname.lastname@example.org.
