Crawford County Sheriff’s Office sells pink badges to support cancer patients

News

A Southeast Kansas sheriff’s office is hoping a piece of its uniform will help them raise money for a special cause.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is the first sheriff’s office in Kansas to offer a badge for sale as part of the “Pink Badge Sale.” The custom designed badges are ten dollars each, and the proceeds from the sale are being donated to Angels Among Us to help support cancer patients in Southeast Kansas. They say supporting cancer treatment is something that hits close to home for the staff.

“It’s touched you in some way, If it’s a coworker, a coworker’s, you know, relative, or your own relative. It’s touched everybody. And I think with Angels Among Us, they do such a good job of helping people and it’s been a really fun project for us and we’ve just got started,” says Captain Danny Smith with Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

The badges can be purchased at the sheriff’s office, or the courthouses in either Pittsburg or Girard.
