The Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Crawford County program is in need of more volunteers.
They have three times as many boys in need of matches than girls, and they’re asking for more adults to volunteer their time. It is suggested that mentors meet with their littles at least twice a month and also help with everyday tasks, like going to the grocery store or going to the park. Program coordinator Cassidy Owen says she hopes more volunteers come forward to be a part of this life changing opportunity.
“They just provide them that extra support. I’ve been a big for almost 3 years and my little just gets the support from being able to have somebody do something with her, “says Cassidy Owen, Mentor Support Specialist, BBBS Pittsburg.
