Springfield extends mask requirement

SRPINGFIELD, Mo. — A Southwest Missouri city is adding another three months to its mask requirement.

The Springfield City Council has voted to require face coverings until January 2021.

There are certain exceptions, including during meals or when outside and at least six feet apart.

The ordinance also increases the number of people allowed to gather on public property from 25 percent to 50 percent of capacity.

The city first started requiring masks back in July.
