Missouri AG warns of covid-19 related fraud

Joplin Area Coronavirus

MISSOURI — Potential cases of fraud have the Missouri Attorney General warning medicaid patients to beware.

Eric Schmitt says con artists have been using covid-19 as a way to trick people out of their personal information.

He warns patients to be cautious of any request for their birthday or social security number and adds that recent cases have focused on coronavirus tests or supplies.

Schmitt points out that is best coming from your doctor or other medical professional.
