American Airlines suspends Joplin Airport flights to Chicago

Joplin Area Coronavirus

JOPLIN, Mo. — American Airlines has decided to suspend Chicago flights from the Joplin Regional Airport due to the covid-19 pandemic.

American Airlines will continue to offer daily Dallas/Fort Worth flights.

Flights to Chicago began in Joplin in June 2019, with two flights offered daily.

Joplin city leaders hope the flights are able to resume once the covid-19 pandemic is over.
