With summer break just around the corner, construction is set to pick up speed in a Southwest Missouri school district.
Crews from Branco Enterprises have been working in the Pierce City School District for several weeks now, but say even more work will begin once school lets out for the summer in two weeks. Several projects, including new roofs on several buildings, is being paid for by a bond voters approved in April of 2018. Currently, they’re working on constructing a new hallway between the high school and middle school, a new high school office and a secure outdoor classroom.
“They won’t have to travel outside at anytime now, we’ve got everybody indoors, and we also have a new high school office that’s being connected and that way our secretary will have a view as to who is coming into the building at all times,” says Kelli Alumbaugh, Pierce City Schools Superintendent.
All work in the Pierce City District is expected to be completed in time for school to resume this August.
