Construction issues delay opening of new Carthage fire station

Carthage city leaders say construction issues are delaying the opening of a new fire station.

It’s been nearly a year since the project broke ground, and station number two was supposed to open this month. But workers say concerns with construction mean there’s still work to complete before firefighters can move in. The nine thousand square foot building will be just the second fire station in Carthage.

City leaders now hope to wrap up the project next month.
