On its 40th birthday, Community Support Services of Joplin celebrates by saying thanks with birthday cake.
CSS provides resources for persons with disabilities in Jasper County by giving them a place to live. The organization was started in 1978 with just nine residents. Today, on its birthday, they’re serving 1500 individuals with 12 programs across 10 counties.
“Persons with developmental disabilities they have been shunned they have been discriminated against, allowing them to be a part of the community to be a part of the community is extremely important to them and it makes the community itself extremely important,” says Jhan Hern.
Community Support Services of Missouri will have a rhythm and brews event on June 2nd.
