A Southeast Kansas organization celebrates more than $200 thousand dollars in grants to local projects this year.
Earlier this week, the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas announced grants to 55 agencies throughout the area, like the Crawford County 4-H and Angels Among Us. Those agencies are spread across six counties. The grant money awarded will go towards 88 separate projects.
Since the Community Foundation was founded in 2001 they’ve been able to distribute more than eleven million dollars in grants to organizations in the area, enabling schools, churches and other non-profits to do projects in their communities.
“It really wouldn’t happen without an organization like the Community Foundation, and other organizations that are very generous to them as well. They rely on community foundations, they rely on other foundations to support the much, much needed work,” says Sherri Stephens, Program Coordinator, Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas.
The grant cycle for the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas will begin again this coming winter and run through next fall.
