The Oklahoma teacher walkout is on day three and districts form across the state are deciding if they will continue to participate.
Jim Haynes, Commerce School District superintendent, says they originally were approved to not hold school through today. But, the district has decided to extend it. Haynes adds the Commerce schools will be out through Friday.
“Teachers feel like the education funding is not appropriate, I think that they’re pretty happy with this year’s what they’ve put in for teacher pay raise, but their not happy with just the general school support,” says Haynes.
Haynes says after Friday the school board will decide if they will continue the walkout on a day to day basis.
