Columbia Elementary teachers treated right on Teacher Appreciation Day

News

Few occupations are as important to every community as teaching, whether it be Pre-K all the way up through college.

So, today is a special day for all of them because it’s National Teacher Appreciation Day. Shally Lundien is the principal at Columbia Elementary in Joplin and brought sweet treats for each of her teachers. But she says the special occasion lasts the entire week.

“We’re getting Sonic drinks, Tropical Smoothie, we’ve had Chick-fil-a breakfast and we’re gonna have Chick-fil-a lunch in a couple of days, Bamboo lunch tomorrow and then a trail mix day, we just try and mix it up and give them some things that are special to them,” says Shally Lundien.

She says the school’s PTO is also showing their appreciation by supplying drinks from Tropical Smoothie.
