The city of Monett repairs a W.P.A.-era project
Crews with the city recently repaired portions of the Kelly Creek flood channel.
City administrator Dennis Pyle says crews noticed instability in the wall of the channel, making the repairs necessary.
Spot repairs include concrete being poured in floor sections, and reinforcing the walls with concrete.
The channel was built in 1937.
Pyle says recent rains had filled approximately half the channel and there weren’t any issues.
