City of Joplin reminds drivers of several road and/or lane closures during Joplin Memorial Run

Press Release from City of Joplin:

In conjunction with the Joplin Memorial Run committee, the City of Joplin reminds citizens that several road and/or lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18. The run map shows the route; however, event officials note that some sections of the course are closed, although much of it will be a controlled traffic area.

In addition, Joplin Street will be closed from 7th to 19th street on Friday, May 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the Walk of Silence.

Drivers are advised to use caution in these areas. There will also heavy pedestrian traffic along several streets throughout the city as spectators cheer runners on the course.  Motorists may wish to seek alternate routes during the times of the run.

The City and JMR officials thank the public for their cooperation and support of this event.
