The Galena Masonic Lodge helps local families keep their kids a little safer.
The Masons held a child identification program Saturday morning, helping to preserve vital information about the kids. Working with officers from the Galena Police Department, they were able to put together a disc with information about height, weight and identifying marks on kids that law enforcement could use in case of an emergency.
“They’re doing fingerprinting, they’re doing DNA swabbing, and then they get the child to speak and then they’d have their voice pattern is what I guess they’d use on that, and then they take a picture of the child,” says Mason Billy Swan.
The Masons say they are already planning another program for later this year.
