CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kans. — A Cherokee County burn ban has ben temporarily lifted after Tuesday night’s weather.

Cherokee County Kansas Emergency Management made the announcement over Facebook and noted that the weather will continue to be monitored. The burn ban could return depending on future conditions.


CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kans. — A burn ban for Cherokee County was put in place Tuesday as a response to rising temperatures.

The announcement was made over the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, and specifies the ban will last until further notice.

The decision was made by the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners due to dry and unsafe conditions.
