Check out local restaurants and help the hungry during JoMo Restaurant Week

Can eating out actually help the food insecure? It can this week throughout the Joplin area.

Monday, January 21st through Sunday, the 27th marks the 4th year for JoMo Restaurant Week. And one of the businesses taking part in the event is celebrating a special anniversary.

Woody’s Woodfire Pizza is one of the restaurants that have been involved in the promotion since it started. Woody’s is celebrating 20 years in business this month, and owner Pete Williams says it’s an honor to have been involved in such a worthy cause.

“If you bring in a canned good you’ll be able to receive a free adult beverage or a free dessert at the participating locations. All of the canned goods and the things that we gather will go to the Crosslines food pantry,” says Pete Williams.
