The cold weather and cloudy skies didn’t stop golfers from heading to the links in Neosho to fight against a deadly disease.
Saturday was the 8th Annual Hooked On Life Golf Tournament at the Neosho Golf Course.
This event started as a way to give back after one of the organizer’s son battled and survived a brain tumor.
Raffle money and registration fees raised from this tournament go to Relay for Life.
One of the biggest things to come from this event in the past eight years has been the continual support from the community.
Staci Ashworth, event organizer, says, “When I send my flyers out and make the phone calls. I’ve got some of these guys that have played every year. And the friends of ours that work with my husband, every year their right back here and it’s pretty amazing.”
Golfers were able to pay five dollars at one of the holes to tee from the ladies tee box.
That money will got to this year’s tournament honoree who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
