Safety concerns now mean Pittsburg drivers have to slow down a bit more when traveling through a major area of town.
The City of Pittsburg recently adopted a new ordinance to change the speed limit on Centennial Drive, between California Street and the east city limits.
That changes the limit from 40 miles per hour, to just 35 miles per hour.
Leaders say this should help address safety concerns with the school crossing and safety routes on Homer Street.
While the new signs have already been installed, the new speed limit won’t be enforced until Monday June, 18th.
