Learning about art before you see it in person can help you appreciate it more when you finally do.
That’s the purpose behind a partnership between Cecil Floyd Elementary School fourth graders and Crystal Bridges Museum. Teaching artist Amber Mintert has been working with students at the school to help teach them about some of the pieces in the Bentonville gallery. The focus of this lesson is about life in early America.
“I’ve been teaching about Colonial America so using the portraits of George Washington and images of colonial life, prior to the 18 hundreds ,and then today we’re going to look at contemporary art work and Colonial America,” says Amber Mintert.
The students will soon be traveling down to the Bentonville museum to see it in person.
