“Catwalk for a Cure” fashion show benefits Nevada Relay for Life

News
The annual “Catwalk for a Cure” took place Friday night at the Ella Maxwell Performing Arts Center at Nevada High School. The fashion show promised the latest trends, along with a chance to speak to numerous vendors from the area.

Proceeds from the event went to the Nevada R-5 School District’s Relay for Life. The night was organized by three of the district’s seniors, who say it’s an honor to be helping such a worthy cause.

“It’s very good. It’s a huge event here in our town, and it’s really rewarding to be a planner in the event,” said Elena Rodriguez, a senior at NHS.

Doors opened at 5:30 Friday evening, with the fashion show beginning at 7, and admission was by donation.

The Ella Maxwell Performing Arts Center is located just north of Nevada High School on West Ashland Street.
