Carthage Public Library receives two grants


A local library is receiving two sizable grants.

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft announced last week that the Carthage Public Library is receiving two grants. A 9 thousand dollar “Racing to Read” grant will be used to develop early literacy services for children from birth to six years of age. The “Spotlight on Literacy” grant for $10 thousand dollars will be used to continue literacy program at Carthage Public Library that helps adults patrons who do not speak English as their first language.
