Carthage Parents as Teachers holds open house

News

Parents as Teacher educators usually go to the homes of their clients, but today those clients came to them.

It’s the annual Carthage Parents as Teachers holiday open house. The two day event is taking place inside the SMB Learning Center. Carthage P.A.T. Director Jane Goade says it’s a great opportunity for kids in the program to meet other kids as holds true for their parents.

“So happy when we see parents meet other parents, they get to know each other a little bit. We like the theme this year, the kids are making things they can give to other people, they get to make the ornaments that they can give away, their canvases, it’s a time for them, you know they get so much during the holidays, it’s the time we’re kind of teaching them how to make things that they can give back,” says Jane Goade, Director, Carthage Parents as Teachers.

And if your kids are in the Parents as Teachers program and you couldn’t make the event today, it runs again Tuesday from 9 am to 6 pm.
