Carthage holds Christmas party for children

An area community needs your help to put on a Christmas party for children in need.

The Annual Laverne Williams Children’s Christmas Party in Carthage is just a few weeks away. The event is always held in Memorial Hall and is put on in conjunction with the police department and the Chamber of Commerce. To make it a success, the organizations need monetary donations to help bring holiday cheer to area kids.

Cheryl Finley, Event Organizer: “We are expecting 400 children, so each of the children will get a gift card, they will have candy and a treat, plus we will have drawings for door prizes for each age group.”

She says people can drop off their donation at the police department or the Chamber of Commerce just off the square in Carthage.
