A southwest Missouri city council will put the finishing touches on its 2020 budget.
The Carl Junction council is reviewing a $6.5 million spending plan. The total is slightly above costs in the 2019 version, with increases for park projects in memorial park and the frank dean sports complex. It also covers a three percent pay raise for city employees. CJ City Administrator Steve Lawver said, “Several years ago the council made a commitment that they would try to get the employees um pay up to a more market rate.”
The proposed budget would also add an additional dispatcher for emergency services.
