Carl Junction storm ruled an EF-3 tornado by NWS meteorologists

The NWS confirms an EF-3 tornado caused damage in Carl Junction Wednesday night.

The storm lowered to ground around 8:05 pm 2 miles northeast of Galena and ended 4 miles northeast of Carl Junction.

The tornado was on the ground for around 14 minutes.

Peak winds are estimated at 140 miles per hour.
