Families, teachers, and staff head out to Carl Junction today to explore what the city has to offer in terms of transportation.
Carl Junction School District hosted a transportation night on Broadway Street. A town favorite for more than twenty years, families enjoyed a meal from local food vendors, while kids explored fire trucks, tractors, and classic cars. The school district expanded this event to also include kindergarten and first grade, so all kids who attend these schools can enjoy this event.
“Parents as teachers started this event just for kids to get to explore different vehicles and see things that they might not get to see close up, such as a semi truck or get inside the fire truck and see those kinds of things,” says Kim Cristy, Carl Junction parent, educator and preschool teacher.
Cristy Hopes transportation night will become a yearly event for the primary kindergarten through first grade building.
