Carl Junction police continue to look for suspects wanted in connection to car break-ins in the area.
Two people have been arrested in the case. The Carl Junction Police Department is patrolling every night to try to catch the remaining suspects. Police say they were able to catch the suspects they have due in large part to security footage that was provided by residents in the area.
“Security cameras at residences is a fairly new thing we run into. It made these cases. They were great pictures, at night, that actually identified the people that were doing it and we got them identified and apprehended strictly because of that,” says Delmar Haase, Carl Junction Chief of Police.
Most of the break-ins occurred in the Briarbrook community of Carl Junction, but they have extended to other neighborhoods as well. Some of the valuables taken from vehicles include money, sunglasses, and guns. Haase advises residents to lock their cars at night and take their guns inside.
