Call For Bug Infestation Leads to One Arrested for Meth

The Galena Police Department posted this to their page Friday:

“On 04-19-2019, Galena Codes Enforcement received an email complaint from a resident at the Galena Motel. One of the residents reported an insect infestation inside of his room.

Officer’s responded to inspect the room and were invited in by the resident. NO BUGS WERE LOCATED! However, the officer did locate methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia! The resident was arrested and Codes Enforcement sought and obtained a search warrant for the apartment.

Several more items of drug paraphernalia were located in the room and seized and the individual arrested is currently in custody at the insect free Cherokee County Jail.

Pro Tip 1- Drugs are bad! They make you see things that aren’t there. For example, bugs. GET HELP!

Pro Tip 2- If you contact the police, and request us to search for invisible bugs, we will be happy to do so. Your safety from invisible bugs is somewhere on our priority list.

The individual’s name is being held pending the filing of formal charges.

Sgt. Cornelius”
