Break-In at Small, Family Owned Movie Theater

A small family-owned movie theater in Southwest Missouri is forced to close temporarily after a break-in.

Owner’s of The Flick Theatre in Anderson say between the hours of 8 P.M. Thursday and 5:30 P.M. Friday, someone broke into their theater.

They discovered a large hole in the theater screen, and had to close down showings on Friday and Saturday nights.

Owner’s captured pictures from cameras around the back doors of the theater, show a man walking.

The owner’s say since all the doors into the theater were locked, they think someone ripped through the screen in order to enter the theater.

Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

In a Facebook post, the owners say, “We have strived to keep something open for this community. And it saddens us that people would do something like this. We apologize to our patrons for this inconvenience.”

They’ve patched-up the screen temporarily until they can get it fixed, and planned to re-open Sunday night.

If you have any information about the incident, contact the Anderson Police Department at (417) 845-1695.
