Bill passed to protect government whistleblowers


A bill is passed by the Senate to protect government whistleblowers.

Bill 786 will restore protections for state employees who blow the whistle on misconduct and then face retaliation according to the bill’s sponsor, Senator Jill Schupp. The bill also puts a ban on the state requiring workers to sign confidentiality agreements when they settle legal disputes.

The measure has now been sent to the House.
