Bill passed that will allow better access to insurance for Oklahomans

A bill has passed the state Senate that would allow for better access to insurance for Oklahomans.

It would directly impact the “Insure Oklahoma Program” which gives financial assistance to those with low-income who can’t obtain it from where they work. The bill would permit individuals to use private insurers. Oklahoma would have to pay about $141 million dollars for this plan and they would use $1.2 billion dollars from the federal government.

The bill compares to other surrounding states like Arkansas who have utilized Medicaid expansion programs.
