The Carthage Press could be making a comeback.
A major announcement is expected by the co-owners of Rush-Hoover media Group on Thursday, October 11th at 10am. A social media post says it will be about the return of a home-owned newspaper in Carthage once again.
The announcement for “The New Carthage Press” will take place at the E.L. Dale Memorial Gardens outside the Carthage Public Library, 612 S. Garrison Ave., Carthage.
In a social media post from the former Carthage Press’s Facebook page, it says, “Here’s our big announcement. The public is invited if you can make it. We’re still working out some details, but we’ll answer all the questions we can.
Matthew Rush and David Hoover, co-owners of Rush-Hoover Media Group, will make an announcement at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 regarding the return of a home-owned newspaper and digital media outlet to the city of Carthage, Missouri.
Rush, Hoover and Editor John Hacker will be on hand to answer questions about the creation of The New Carthage Press at the E.L. Dale Memorial Gardens outside the Carthage Public Library, 612 S. Garrison Ave., Carthage.
These meticulously maintained gardens were dedicated in honor of the last local owner of a The Carthage Press and one of the founders of the Maple Leaf Festival, which is celebrating its 52nd year this month.
