Baxter Springs raid leads to drugs, stolen property

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Baxter Springs Police Department executed a search warrant at a Baxter Springs home Wednesday afternoon.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Investigators obtained the search warrant after a two month long investigation into a burglary of a Riverton residence led them to the suspect’s location. 

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff, investigators located stolen property and seized suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the home.

Anthony Paxson, 34, was arrested at the scene for Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Trespass, Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and three counts of Aggravated Child Endangerment. 

Paxson is being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.
