A Claremore, Oklahoma native showcases his latest art collection that represents weather in the Four States.
The Baxter Springs Heritage Center and Museum is hosting Virgil Lampton’s atmospheric state this week. His works comprise of paintings, jewelry, and pottery that resemble dramatic weather events in Oklahoma. The museum director says she is happy to have this exhibit here because she believes art is just not shared enough.
“But to share art and to see inside someone’s thought process behind creating it and to just soak it all in and expand our own environment by being there is something that we don’t have enough in this community,” says Mary Billington, museum director.
The Baxter Springs Heritage Center is located at 740 East Avenue in Baxter Springs, Kansas and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Atmospheric state will be on display until September fourth.
