UPDATE: Wesley Smith, 20, of Joplin was arrested on suspicion of the voluntary manslaughter of 22 year old Tyler Ryan Myers of Baxter Springs.
Sheriff David Groves says that Smith is currently in jail without bond.
Mindy Butterfield of Joplin was also arrested on charges of intent to distribute marijuana in connection to the case. Butterfield has posted bond and has been released.
Groves says the investigation is still ongoing, but he does not anticipate additional arrests.

Friday evening, law enforcement was called to South Military Avenue in Baxter Springs.
One person died in the incident, but officials are not confirming the cause of death.
At this time, they are interviewing potential witnesses and suspects, trying to determine what lead up to the event of the night.
The Cherokee County Sheriff says there is no danger to the community at this time and they do plan to be on scene investigating throughout the weekend.
Traffic on two blocks of Military Avenue had to be shut down for about an hour and a half.
