A group that helps students in need now has several thousand dollars to spend on its projects.
It’s called “Moving Mountains” and it helps fill needs in smaller school districts like Diamond and Westview. Today, the Arvest Foundation donated five thousand dollars toward the Snack Pack Program – hoping to boost the much needed service.
“There are a lot of kids who don’t have you know meals, and shoes, and backpacks, and jackets. And these funds will be able to help with that,” says Terra Oxendine.
“Our organization is ran 100% by volunteers, so all the money that gets donated goes directly toward helping children in need,” says Aimee Danner with Moving Mountains.
Volunteers say the donation will cover all the costs for the Snack Pack Program for the next couple of months.
