A woman from Bella Vista, Arkansas drowns in Elk River, after her canoe capsized Monday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 50 year old Ann Theile was floating near the Mount Shira access on the river, when she came upon a tree in the river. The canoe then capsized when she stood up.

Troopers say she became trapped, tangled in the tree debris and drowned.
