Trucks and classic cars line a Baxter Springs pharmacy to bring awareness to the mother road.
The last show of the season for the Annual Chill Out Car Show was held today at Monarch Pharmacy and Soda Fountain.
Organizers of the car show originally started holding cruise nights to draw awareness to Route 66 and bring back the “small town feel” to the area.
For a small entry fee, participants competed for first and second place trophies, as well as many other awards.
“Hopefully we can keep getting it gathered up and get something going for children in this area. I know when some other local businesses were here like Walmart in the past, they do a Toys For Tots since then Baxter has lost that entity.” says Taylor Siegert, Chill Out Car Show Owner
Organizers hope to raise enough money in the future to give back to children in the community, as well as local technical schools.
