An area organization dedicates a road to a fallen veteran

Area veterans make sure one of their own who has passed away isn’t forgotten.

Bert Holloway served his country in both the United States Army as well as the Marine Corp, including three tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He passed away recently at the age of 76. To make sure his memory and sacrifice will live on, an area veterans organization dedicated a road after Holloway in the True North Enterprises Compound. Holloway’s son Lloyd, says it’s a great honor considering he only lived in the four states for a few years.

“When he came down here he just got involved within the veteran’s community and after he passed away a lot of folks like True North came up ot us and said he did this for us he did that for us, we want to thank him for what he did, I’m just, I think it’s awesome, just awesome,” says Lloyd Holloway, Bert Holloway’s son.

Holloway is originally from Illinois, but spent the last few years of his life in Joplin. All of the roads in the True North Compound are named after fallen heroes.
