Four state residents spent their Saturday listening to live music to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease.
Adelmo Family Care hosted an Alzheimer’s benefit concert Saturday at VFW Post 534 in Joplin.
Visitors enjoyed a live band, food, door prizes, and a silent auction.
All money raised from the entry fee and silent auction goes directly to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The team captain of the event put this fundraiser together because Alzeimers has affected her close loved ones.
Jennie Leake, Adelmo Noble Protectors team captain, says, “This cause means a lot to me, but also it makes me sad because of the families and the care givers that have to deal with this issue.”
Adelmo Family Care hopes to raise at least $5,000 at the end of Saturday’s event.
