A sneak peek and ribbon cutting event at the Southwest Missouri St. Jude Dream Home lets visitors see the design concept of the home.
The home’s lead designer says everything in the house comes from the inspiration she got when traveling to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
She says the hospital is colorful and cheerful, so she wanted the home to reflect that atmosphere.
There’s even patient art in the home, like in the Jack and Jill bathroom which displays art made by a St. Jude patient on the shower curtain.
The “farmhouse mixed with boho-feel” is also what gives the home its unique character.
Everyone involved is so honored to be part of the process.
Angie Schuber, Lead Designer, says, “It’s been inspirational for us to see our community and our employees and trade partners rally around, and make this possible.”
Damon Schuber, with Schuber Mitchell Homes, says “Well, of course we had heard about St Jude before, but learning more and more about it – traveled to Memphis to tour the hospital. And, we’re just really overwhelmed with the quality of care and what they do for children’s cancer. So, we said, absolutely. We’d love to partner in any way that we can.”
The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is a community service project to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Open houses begin this Saturday, from 9 to 5 pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
That continues each weekend until May 19th, then the home will then be given away live on air on May 22nd.
