36th Annual Pumpkin Run

Kids and adults grab their tennis shoes this morning to take part in an annual Joplin tradition

Joplin Area Roadrunners hosted the 36th Annual Pumpkin Run today at McClelland Park.
Consisting of a five mile run and a one mile kids run, this event has been the longest running race in Joplin.
At the end of the one mile fun run, kids received small pumpkins to take home.
All of the money raised goes directly to the United Cerebral Palsy Center in Webb City.

“The running community in joplin is so tight knit and everybody knows everybodyand we’ve been together for so many year. It’s so much fun. It’s just a great thing. We always are looking for new people to come out. We’d love to get new people involved.” says Bobby Ballard, Joplin Family YMCA Running Coach

Ballard says organizers will keep the same route for next year, since this race has become a staple of Joplin.
