CARTHAGE, Mo. — Mark Twain Elementary kiddos gave a big Thumbs Up after a day of learning about community helpers! Carthage firefighters were special guests, Thursday, at Mark Twain Elementary. All part of the school’s “Community Helpers Week.”

Teachers and staff want the kids to understand the different types of community helpers — and how they keep us all safe.

“If we cultivate that interest and that excitement for being a part of the community now, later we can continue to grow on that as they get older, and they start to get involved in more community events,” said Jennifer Dillard, Mark Twain Elementary Principal

The kids met members of law enforcement earlier in the week.
