UPDATE MONDAY AFTERNOON: Joplin Police Department release information that they have submitted charges to the Jasper County Prosecutor for the 20-year-old man they have in custody from the shooting late Sunday night.

  • Raymund P. Badios, 20, of Joplin, Missouri
  • 1st Degree Murder (2X)
  • 1st Degree Assault (1x)
  • Armed Criminal Action (3X)

The two victims have also been identifed by police. Next of kin were on the scene during the night as the tragic scene unfolded.

  • Chong K. Xiong, 30, of Duenweg, Missouri
  • Toua Y. Lee, 36, of Joplin, Missouri

Our sources tell us that Joplin Police are seeking perhaps another individual that fled the scene and could possibly be injured. JOPLIN, Mo. — Just before 11:45 PM Sunday night Joplin dispatch alerted authorities to a possible shots fired, 110 North Rangeline Road in Joplin, The Bites and Pipes Hooka Lounge.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Officers responded to a request from Joplin, sending three county deputies. Joplin Police already on the scene, Joplin Fire Rescue and METS Ambulance.

Joplin Police Capt William Davis confirms there are two deceased inside the Hookah Lounge after a large disturbance. They currently have one person custody.

Joplin Police Detectives have been working behind crime scene tape all night long to process the evidence. The two bodies will be sent for autopsy as part of the investigation.
