Growing up, Tichina Coleman wanted to be a WNBA player, and while in high school and college, she did play basketball. But Tichina says that when she saw women like Pam Oliver and Erin Andrews reporting for the NFL, and Doris Burke broadcasting for the NBA, she knew she wanted to become a sports reporter and broadcaster.
Tichina is from Fort Worth, Texas. She came to Joplin to attend Missouri Southern State University where she graduated in May 2020 with a degree in Communication.
“During my time at MSSU, I gained so much experience and was a part of the football and basketball broadcasts,” Tichina says. “After graduation, I was hired as a production assistant at KSN/KODE and in 2022, I became part of the Four States Sports Report team as a Digital Sports Reporter.”
I enjoy watching anything sports related, binge-watching TV shows, and spending time with my family.
