Ray Foreman has been the Chief Meteorologist for the Action 12 Weather Team for over 15 years. Since joining KODE he’s been recognized for his on-air work by the Missouri Broadcasters Association and the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. He’s been a member of the National Weathercasters Association since 2002, held the N.W.A. Seal of Approval since 2003 and currently serves on the N.W.A. Awards Committee. Ray graduated from Mississippi State University’s Broadcast Meteorology Program in the summer of 2000.
Ray is also an avid pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Col. Travis Hoover Composite Squadron based at the Joplin Regional Airport. His love for aviation, meteorology and science lead to his position as an Aerospace Education Officer with Civil Air Patrol. In addition to giving weather presentations in area schools throughout the year, he volunteers a lot of his free time informing young students on the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
His broadcast career spans more than 25 years working for television and radio stations in Missouri and Arkansas. His work included writing and producing documentaries, spinning records (yes, vinyl records) for country stations and even hosting a talk radio show.
