Gretchen Bolander

Gretchen Bolander joined the Action 12 News team in 1995. She is the Jasper County reporter, including coverage of county & city government, crime and court cases. 

Gretchen isn’t limited to those stories – going out for special assignments that have included traveling to Florida for Janet Kavandi’s first shuttle takeoff and Marine Recruit Training in San Diego during Operation Iraqi Freedom. You will also see her filling in as an anchor on “Good Morning Four States” and Action 12 News at 5, 6, and 10. Gretchen has received several awards during her time at KODE including the AP Story of the Month.

Gretchen grew up in Wichita, KS, attending Bishop Carroll High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Pittsburg State University and continues to support the Gorilla’s sports programs.
